Hoping to empower aphasic patients with another form of communication mitigating their loss of speech, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago created a photography class. Unfortunately, many patients had lost their facility with speech due to stroke, and could no longer use their right hands with adequate dexterity. Colton's team was charged with the creation of a simple attachment to make left-handed picture taking possible.
